WHO IS THE FOUNDER?

On February 14th, 2023, after nearly three decades of running a digital printing company in Rochester, NY, Raphael made the decision to close the business due to industry decline.

The industry he had been passionate about for so long was in decline and was no longer profitable. Instead of selling, he prioritized his employees by helping them find new opportunities and transferring his top accounts to local shops. Once this transition was complete, he decided it was time for a fresh start and relocated to Vero Beach, FL.

In 2023, while enjoying a premium cigar on his patio, Raphael had an epiphany. He realized that cigars shared similarities with the printing industry. Each cigar, whether handcrafted or machine-made, is unique, just like a printed product. Cigar making is a craft, an idea, a way to boost business while fostering social connections, and best of all, it is affordable and complements various hobbies.

Every evening, Raphael would smoke a different type of cigar and brainstorm ideas for launching a cigar business that would stand out from the traditional local smoke shop environment.

In October of 2023, his vision came to fruition. “Just Smoke Cigars” was born. Raphael envisioned creating an online storefront for cigars and accessories that would cater to the local market in Vero Beach. Recognizing that even the average smoker desires high-quality premium cigars and accessories but may feel intimidated by traditional cigar lounges. Raphael believed his vision would resonate with customers. Instead of merely selling products, he aimed to provide valuable articles, interviews, how-to videos, pairings, and special event opportunities for local businesses in the community.

Throughout 2023 and all of 2024, he dedicated himself to developing a user-friendly website and a brand that aligned with his vision of the future of cigar ordering.
